Open year-round from 9am to 4pm, except on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Afternoon tours may be available on cruise dates.
Directions
The ship’s physical location is on the Eastern side of Pier 45, Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, California. However, the Pier 45 address usually doesn’t work well with GPS devices. Try The Embarcadero & Taylor St as your destination. Then walk around the Eastern side of Shed A/Musee Mecanique to the ship.

1. Take US-101 South across the Golden Gate Bridge
2. Slight left onto Lombard St
3. Turn left onto Polk St
4. Turn right onto North Point St
5. Turn left onto Taylor St
I-80 W / Bay Bridge
1. Take I-80 W across the Bay Bridge
2. Exit at Folsom St
3. Stay right at the fork towards Folsom St
4. Turn left onto Folsom St
5. Turn left onto The Embarcadero
6. Turn right to continue on The Embarcadero
I-280 N
1. Take I-280 North
2. Continue onto King St
3. Continue onto The Embarcadero

The O'Brien relies completely on revenue from dockside tours, donations and fundraising events.
By purchasing a ticket, you help to keep the O'Brien in good repair, fully operational, and available for the enjoyment of the public for future generations.
Guided Tours for Schools and Other Groups
Guided Tours are available for groups of 10 or more. Groups of nine or fewer are welcome to use the self-guided tour available at the ticket booth. Guided tours should be scheduled three weeks in advance. Allow about one and one half hours to tour the ship.
School-aged children and other youth groups are welcome. We recommend at least one adult chaperone for every ten children/youth.
